Editorial Guidelines

Moneyscope publishes personal finance education. These guidelines explain how our editorial team creates that content, how we check it, and how we use AI in the process.

How we create our content

Every article starts with a reader question: something people are actually trying to understand or decide. We research the topic using primary sources such as regulators, established financial institutions, and widely accepted personal finance frameworks, then outline the article so it answers the question directly.

A draft is prepared from that research and outline. Our editors then revise it for accuracy, clarity, balance, and tone, add relevant links to other Moneyscope articles, and remove anything that reads as a promise about individual financial outcomes.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help with research summaries and first drafts. AI is a writing aid, not the author of record. A member of our editorial team reviews every article before it is published, is responsible for its accuracy, and stands behind it.

Articles created this way are published under the Moneyscope Editorial Team byline and carry a short note explaining that AI assisted with the draft. Articles written or substantively reviewed by a named individual are published under that person's byline instead.

Accuracy and sources

We aim to describe rules, definitions, and common methods correctly and to distinguish widely accepted guidance from opinion. Where a figure or rule can change over time, we favor explaining the principle over quoting a number that may go stale.

Personal finance is a “your money or your life” topic, so we hold this content to a higher standard of care than general lifestyle writing. If you spot something that looks wrong, we want to hear about it.

Independence and disclosure

Our articles are not sponsored, and we do not accept payment to feature a product or point of view. When an article mentions Moneyscope, it is because the product is genuinely relevant to the topic, and we say so plainly.

Corrections

When we learn that a published article contains an error, we fix it and update the article's modified date. For anything more than a small wording change, we note what changed. To report a possible error, contact us through the feedback page.

Not financial advice

Moneyscope articles are for education only. They are not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and they are not tailored to your situation. For guidance specific to you, consider speaking with a qualified professional.
